How to Get Here
Ferries run from Victoria (Swartz Bay Terminal) to Salt Spring (Fulford Harbour) every 2 hours and it is about a 35 minute crossing.
Further north on the Island, the ferry runs from Crofton Terminal to Vesuvius on Salt Spring.
Please note you can’t make reservations for trips from Vancouver Island to Salt Spring,
From Vancouver (Tsawwassen Ferry Terminal) there are a few options. Arriving at Long Harbour on Salt Spring Island, there is a direct 1.5 hour trip to Long Harbour or a 3 hour trip with multiple island stops.
Alternatively, you can do a “thoroughfare” where you will take one boat from Vancouver (Tsawwassen) to Victoria (Swartz Bay), and then take a second boat from Victoria (Swartz Bay Terminal) to Salt Spring (Fulford Harbour). Let BC ferries know you are doing the “thoroughfare” to Salt Spring (Fulford Harbour), and you will get special placement on the boat and directions about how to drive out of the Victoria (Swartz Bay) Terminal and u-turn and come back in for your ride to Salt Spring (Fulford Harbour). It’s actually less complicated than it sounds and can give some more flexible schedule options as these boats run more frequently.
Even the ferry ride to Salt Spring Island is very scenic. Watch for seals, sea lions, cormorants, oyster catchers, eagle, porpoises and even orcas while on board BC Ferries.

Floatplane service is available from Harbour Air traveling from the Victoria airport, the Vancouver airport and downtown Vancouver.

Here is some information about traveling on Salt Spring by bike.
The resort is centrally located and well signed off the main roads. We have a complimentary level 2 EV charger on resort.
From Vesuvius or Long Harbour: drive through Ganges and continue south for 7 km. Turn left on Cusheon Lake Road.
From Fulford Harbour: drive north for 10 km and turn right on Cusheon Lake Road.
Once on Cusheon Lake Road, continue for 2.5 km and turn right on Stewart Rd. Then almost immediately, take the next right on Horel Road, which turns into Natalie Lane and the resort driveway.
Proceed straight down to the office to the check in.
Things to do on Salt Spring
Ruckle Provincial Park is a beautiful spot for an easy walk by the ocean and to look for wildlife such as otters, porpoises, sea lions, seals, eagles, and a wide variety of birds depending on the season. It also has a rich history well documented by interpretive plaques, and heritage farm where you can often see farm animals or pick up something to eat at the farm stand.
Beddis Beach is only an 8 minute drive from the resort.
Mt Erskine has almost 240 hectares of protected land with a variety of trails. It’s an ambitious climb, but once you reach the top you won’t be disappointed by the view! On the way up, keep your eye out for fairy doors.
Mt Maxwell is the tallest point on the island, and with the right vehicle, you can drive to the top and walk around.
Burgoyne Bay aka Xwaaqw’um is a terrific spot with so much history to explore. There are a range of walks and hikes for different levels. Don’t miss the trail out to Daffodil Point when the flowers are in bloom. The bay is a great place to see migratory ducks in the fall and winter or check out the houseboats.
The Tsawout First Nation Reserve Trail is our favourite. It can be accessed at the end of Menhinick Drive. It can be either a loop or just do the ocean side, where you’ll pass many beautiful white shell beaches and arbutus trees. At the trailhead, you’ll see a beautiful 13-moon calendar sign created by local artist and author Briony Penn showing the seasonal rhythms on one of the oldest and richest First Nations sites in the Gulf Islands. There is another sign with park rules to be mindful of.
Duck Creek is a good place to take your dog for a run off-leash. For something closer, try the dog park in town at 262 Rainbow Road with a fenced in area and many attractive features.
Weather permitting, Salt Spring Adventure Co. offers half day kayaking trips where you paddle from Ganges Harbour to Chocolate Beach, which is a really lovely spot. When in season, they also offer sunset paddling to see bioluminescence and whale watching from a zodiac boat.
You’ll find an array of shops in Ganges, including grocery and liquor stores. There are a great range of restaurants.
Barb’s Buns is known for cinnamon twists, cheese sticks, smoothies, seafood chowder and more. The Treehouse Café is famous for the atmosphere, live music in the summer, and a spot to leave letters for Erskine the Elf. Harlan’s Chocolates offers creative handmade chocolates and gelato.
Many shops are right inside the owner/artist’s home, all over the Island or in a unique location. Salt Spring Cheese Farm is not far from the resort. You can see the cheese being made, check out the shop, meet goats, and in the summer they have a lovely outdoor cafe. If you are interested in trying the local spirits, Salt Spring Wild, Salt Spring Winery, Salt Spring Brewery and Salt Spring Shine all do tastings. Salt Spring Wild also offers a popular tapas menu in a nice orchard setting. Check out the chocolates and more at the Lee Road Farm Stand if you go to the Salt Spring Winery.
There is also a collection of shops in Fulford Harbour, including a pottery store, a convenience/grocery store where you can buy many locally made products and a good restaurant with patio called Rock Salt.
The Tuesday afternoon vegetable market runs June-October in Centennial Park. The Saturday Market is currently running from 9am – 4pm with safety protocols in place from either the first weekend in April or Easter Weekend (whichever comes first) through the last Saturday in October.
Uptown Pizza will deliver to the resort after 5pm. You can order pizzas as well as burgers, fish & chips, wings, ribs & more.
