Covid-19 Response Message

Dear Friends,
We hope this note finds you and your loved ones all healthy and safe during this challenging time.We miss having you here, but otherwise are in good health and are trying to make the most of the situation.  We’re connecting together as a family and with nature and taking care of some of the projects that have been lingering on the To Do List.  We hope you’re finding your own silver linings during this time of solitude.

Salt Spring Island appears to be in good shape as well.  There is food (and toilet paper!) in the grocery stores and island residents are adapting well to our altered reality by staying home and respecting social distancing when they have to go out.  Salt Spring is especially vulnerable to the pandemic – with a large population of senior residents, a small hospital and a limited supply chain.  It is for those reasons that local government and BC Ferries have asked that traffic to the island(s) be limited to ‘residents only’.  We are following their lead and have closed the resort.

This is an evolving and unprecedented situation, so we are are evaluating on a week-by-week basis.  We suspect that the closure will continue through the end of May, but are hopeful that we can start welcoming guests back to Cusheon Lake Resort sometime in June.  

We want everyone to be healthy and safe, so in light of the current situation we have modified our cancelation policy.

If you have a reservation for May or June: – We will be in touch if we have to cancel the reservation due to travel restrictions. – If you are unable or uncomfortable with travel at this time, please let us know as soon as possible.  Cancelation fees will be waived. – If you have already paid a deposit, we can refund the deposit, less $25 for processing (this is to cover the cost that the Payment Processor  charges us for processing the initial deposit as well as the refund transaction), or we can keep your full deposit on file to be put towards a  future booking.

If you have a reservation for the Summer (June 26th – September 7th): – We’re hopeful that we’ll be able to welcome guests back to the lake by the time the busy summer season arrives (fingers crossed!).  We  will continue to monitor the situation and will contact you if the travel ban continues into July. – Similarly, if you’re unable or uncomfortable with travel at this time, please let us know as soon as possible. – If reservations need to be canceled due to the pandemic, the June 1st deadline has been suspended for this year.  You’ll have the option  for a refund (less $25 for processing) or we can hang on to your full deposit to be put towards your Summer 2021 reservation.

We’re here! (where else could/would we be?!) – busily and excitedly working away at preparing the resort for the your return.  If you have any questions (or just want to chat), please don’t hesitate to give us a call.  We’re open to take new reservations for June and beyond.  We’d love to hear from you! :)
We’re SO excited to welcome you back to Cusheon Lake Resort…just as soon as it’s safe to do so.  

In the meantime, be kind to yourselves and each other.  We need lots of patience, love and positive energy to help guide us forward.  Be sure to thank the frontline workers in your life.  They’re helping us all through this and need our support and encouragement.  Every Sunday evening at 7PM we join with our neighbours to make some joyful noise to show our gratitude to the frontline workers who are making this difficult time much easier.
